JOHN LEWIS – BASS

John Lewis – A South Jersey boy who got his start playing the saxophone at the age of 8. Accessing any and all positions to play with other musicians he quickly outgrew his local community. From marching band and orchestra to jazz and chorus he continued to seek a challenge and opportunity to grow and while he loved playing the sax a calling to new calling drove him to the drums. Several years and a few states later Austin became a new home. Then came the Preachers of Hell County where John found himself playing upright bass. Exploiting influences from previous instruments and a no genre limit, his upright bass “Betty Sue” provides the sound that helps maintain the Preachers unique qualities.
